How to use place classification

Places are classified into categories, to improve search results.
In the Advanced Search, places types can be selected. Use the categories to narrow down and speed up your search, so you can select quickly from the results:
Most people will search for "City or Village" or "Administrative Area", where they live, or for a "Spot type, Attraction".
Outdoor sports fans are interested in "Mountains",  or "Spot type, Attraction".
Sailors may search for "Undersea" reference points.
"Transport", "Vegetation", "Sea/River/Lake" or  others may be rather used by special interests groups.
Registered users may save their settings as favorites.
