Tips for finding "sunny" places
The meteograms show the weather forecast with different clouds levels. Whereas low clouds regularly intercept ("shade") the sunlight, the high clouds (above 10 km) permit the passage of sunshine.
The cloud forecast in the meteogram is graded in density (% classes) and time (hours). For high clouds, 100% will still allow to see the sun, but the light is hazy, and the sun does not appear with a clear contour anymore. With medium clouds, 75% cover usually allows some sunlight spots to come through. With 25% or less cover, you can expect mostly clear skies.
In where2go?, the sunshine is aggregated for (half) a day. A higher % of sunshine on a generally cloudy day usually means that there will be a few hours with more sunshine, or (less often) intermittent sunny spots followed by clouds. With high clouds, where2go? may still show high sunshine %, because the sun is still visible on the ground.
To judge the type of cloud cover, look at the meteogram from the selected place. To get more detail for the "best" place found by where2go?:
