p☼int technology
meteoblue weather information is calculated using NMM models which cover entire continents. Models are divided into grid cells, with a cell size (resolution) of between 50 and 3 Km. To adapt the weather forecast further to each p☼int within a grid cell, meteoblue uses p☼int technology: thereby, temperature (and other parameters) are adapted to the actual elevation of the place, by interpolating the different atmosphere levels for the grid cell.This technology was invented by meteoblue and improves the temperature forecast by 0.5 to 1°C . This improvement increases the number of forecasts with less than 2°C error by about 10% (see also validation).
