Meteogram Clima

The Opens external link in new windowClima meteogram shows the annual course of temperature, precipitation amount and days, as well as wind measurements from a nearby weather station. The parameters shown depend on the availability of complete and consistent measurements from the observation station.
  1. The first graph shows the average, the maximum (red) and the minimum (blue) temperatures. Extreme values are represented by + and * characters. Two thirds of observed temperatures lie within the colored temperature range.
  2. The second graph shows precipitation amount (in mm) and the range of monthly means in two thirds of the years.
  3. The third graph shows the number of days per month with precipitation  and the two thirds variation within the bars.
  4. The last graph graph shows the observed daily mean wind speed and the two thirds range of weekly means.

The measurements include at least 10 years. Weather stations with shorter measurement time series are not considered. Therefore, the weather station displayed maybe not always be the nearest station with measurements.
The  Opens external link in new windowClima meteogram thus gives an overview of the possible weather conditions in the area of the selected location. In order to assess the situation at the selected location, consider the distance and the altitude difference (m asl) to the observation station.

Meteogram Climate Comparison

The climate comparison meteogram shows, how the expected weather compares to the weather of the previous 10 or more years. Thereby, you can see how "normal" the current weather is.
The climate meteogram searches the closest place  which has a weather station with minimum 10 years of reliable measurements available. The name of the place with the station is indicated in the meteogram title, as well as the distance from the selected place.
The temperature chart shows the range of maximum, mean (thin line) and minimum temperatures of the past years, and the forecast of the next 6 days (thick line). The total precipitation for the next days is shown in the precipitation chart, relative to the average precipitation of the period during the last years.
The climate chart shows temperature and precipitation of the current date as measured at the station on the same date during the past years. Years without measurement are marked with a grey bar.
.

For the climate meteogram, the nearest weather station is selected automatically, for which reliable measurements over 30 years are available. In hilly areas, this station can be located on a different altitude than the selected place. Therefore the climatic diagram shows the the measurement and the forecast for this station, and not for the selected place.
The nearest weather station nevertheless shows the present weather in the environment of the selected place better than a more similar, but farther station. A selection of the station (filter: by altitude country, landscape, or others) would make more distant stations appear under several circumstances. Thus, the comparison with the weather (and climate) would become locally less relevant than the comparison with a neighbouring station - even if this station is located on a different altitude.
The direct comparison of the conditions at the selected place with the weather at the measuring station is possible based on the forecast at both places, e.g. with the help of the meteogramm Ai1.
