From Water Sports to Wine Tasting: meteoblue Day 2025

Posted on by Dorian Hoffmann (meteoblue)

At the beginning of July, the meteoblue team gathered for the annual meteoblue day – an offsite filled with nature, laughter and a healthy dose of team spirit.

Canoe, splash, repeat

Day one featured a scenic canoe trip down the Rhine, which turned into an energetic adventure full of splashing and teamwork. Despite one boat capsizing (with no harm done), everyone made it to the end point in high spirits – albeit thoroughly soaked and utterly exhausted. The sunny weather added to the challenge, but also the fun.

After drying off, the team enjoyed a dinner that truly impressed: beautifully presented, Instagram-worthy plates paired with local beverages, followed by a relaxed evening at the hotel. The accommodation was equally memorable, with luxurious rooms providing a perfect retreat after the first day’s efforts.

Geo-caching and pool rules

Day two brought the group into the rural surroundings of Müllheim for a geo-caching adventure. Under the blazing sun, teams successfully completed the trail, uncovering hidden caches while enjoying the charm of the historic streets. The determination and good spirits shown throughout were a clear reflection of the team’s collaborative mindset.

In the afternoon, some of the three-day participants sought relief at the local swimming pool, only to discover an unexpected obstacle: Germany’s strict Badehosenordnung regulations. Unfortunately, most of the team were denied entry into the water for not wearing the prescribed swimwear – a cultural lesson, if not a refreshing one.

That evening, the group gathered for the “2 truths, 1 lie” game, which sparked laughter and surprising revelations – proving once again that even among close colleagues, there’s always more to discover.

Hiking, heritage and Gutedel

The final day was crowned by a scenic hike through the rolling vineyards and forested hills of the Rhineland. The team travelled to Badenweiler, where the natural beauty made the uphill climbs worthwhile. A traditional lunch at a local restaurant offered a taste of the region’s culinary heritage, followed by an afternoon wine-tasting of local wines including Gutedel, the area’s signature white wine known for its light, refreshing character and strong ties to the Markgräflerland region.

Resilience in the heat

A persistent heatwave accompanied the group throughout the retreat – challenging at times, yet handled with good humour and flexibility. In a company dedicated to understanding climate and weather patterns, it served as a timely reminder of the relevance and urgency of our mission.

Once again, meteoblue day proved to be more than a getaway. It was a celebration of shared purpose, adaptability, and the joy of simply coming together – on water, on foot, and over wine.
