meteoblue at the Meteorological Technology World Expo 2025 in Vienna

meteoblue showcased innovation and scientific excellence at the world’s leading meteorological technology event in Vienna, strengthening its role in advancing accurate weather forecasting.

The Meteorological Technology World Expo 2025 once again brought together the global meteorological community for three inspiring days in Vienna. As the world’s leading event for meteorological, hydromet, metocean, and environmental monitoring technologies, it welcomed more than 150 exhibitors and over 2,000 professionals from across 100 countries, offering an exceptional platform for collaboration, innovation, and information exchange.

meteoblue made a strong impression with its redesigned booth, featuring a modern, professional design that reflected the company’s focus on innovation and visual clarity. The refreshed concept not only reflected the company’s innovative spirit but also attracted a high number of visitors, creating an ideal setting for meaningful discussions and new business opportunities.

A key highlight of the event was the presentation by the meteoblue Chief Strategy Officer, Karl Gutbrod, titled “Forecast: Taking Precipitation Accuracy to New Levels with a Combination of Multi-Modelling, Statistics and A.I.” The talk demonstrated how integrating multiple numerical weather prediction models, observational data, and artificial intelligence can significantly enhance precipitation forecast accuracy. Based on measurements from more than 30,000 stations worldwide, the study revealed accuracy improvements of over 20 percent compared to individual models, illustrating the potential of advanced data-driven methodologies for operational forecasting.

Throughout the trade fair, the meteoblue team engaged with numerous partners, customers, and technology providers. These exchanges provided valuable insights into emerging trends such as artificial intelligence applications, advanced climate change adaptation strategies, and integration of high-resolution forecasts into sensor and monitoring systems. The discussions also reaffirmed the growing recognition of meteoblue as a trusted source of accurate and reliable weather data for both public and private stakeholders worldwide.

During the event, meteoblue was honoured at the inaugural Global Hydrometeorological Excellence Awards, hosted by the Varysian Network. Our company received multiple recognitions, including first place for Best Integration of Hydromet into Infrastructure or Smart Cities, as well as second-place awards in the categories Excellence in Climate and Weather Data Services, Top Agritech Solution for Climate-Smart Agriculture, and Excellence in Renewable Energy Forecasting. These distinctions acknowledge our contribution to advancing hydrometeorology and its commitment to scientific excellence and practical impact across industries.

The three days in Vienna were marked by inspiring exchanges, productive meetings, and excellent teamwork. The event reaffirmed the value of personal interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration in driving innovation within the meteorological community. With its strengthened partnerships, growing visibility, and continued focus on accuracy and innovation, meteoblue looks ahead to another year of progress in shaping the future of weather intelligence.
