Meteorological Technology World Expo has long been a fixture in the calendar of meteoblue. We have participated since the early years of the event, and each edition gives us the chance to meet people we work with throughout the year, reconnect with long-standing partners and friends, and start conversations with new faces from across the meteorological community.
This year, the Expo moves to the Netherlands, where it will take place at RAI Amsterdam from 6 to 8 October 2026. We will be sharing the stand H30 with Windy, our parent company, bringing our teams and technologies together under one roof.
After welcoming hundreds of visitors to our stand in previous years, we are looking forward to doing it all again. In 2025, the Expo brought together more than 2,000 professionals from 100 countries, making it one of those rare occasions when a large part of the international weather community finds itself in the same place.
From mLM methodology to real-world applications
There will also be something new on the programme this year. Michael Bührer of meteoblue will present “Improving Forecast Accuracy with mLM: Methodology, Verification and Real-World Applications”, exploring how the meteoblue Learning MultiModel (mLM) combines nowcasting, multi-model blending, downscaling and other techniques to improve locally relevant forecasts. Alongside verification results comparing mLM with individual weather models, Michael will show how these forecasts are already being put to work, from their integration into Windy to applications in urban climate, agriculture and critical infrastructure.
Forecasts, friends and a few beers
And because an Expo is as much about the conversations between presentations as the presentations themselves, we are adding something rather less technical to stand H30 this year.
We are bringing a beer bar.
For the first time, we will have several beers on tap for visitors to enjoy while catching up with our team. Previous editions have involved plenty of coffee, Swiss chocolate and Läckerli. All excellent conference fuel, of course, but this year we thought we could improve the forecast for late-afternoon refreshments.
So whether you have worked with meteoblue for years, want to talk forecasting and verification, have a new project in mind, or simply fancy a beer and a chat about the weather, come and find us at stand H30.
