  • WHAT: Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • WHERE: A portion of southern Connecticut, including the following counties, Fairfield and New Haven.
  • WHEN: Until 845 PM EDT.
  • IMPACTS: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated.
  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
    • At 722 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain earlier. This is causing urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas have already caused minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 2.5 and 4.5 inches of rain have fallen.
    • Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.7 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will aid in minor flooding.
    • Some locations that will experience flooding include, Bridgeport, New Haven, Waterbury, Danbury, Milford, Shelton, Naugatuck, Southbury, Wolcott, Sherman, Newtown, Fairfield, Hamden, Stratford, Trumbull, Cheshire, Westport, Ridgefield, Monroe and Bethel.
