The cold air reaches Europe with easterly winds on the south side of a powerful high-pressure core above Scandinavia. The expected morning frosts will pose a threat to the flowers of early blossoming trees, which have been growing ahead of normal, due to prevailing daytime temperatures of 20°C and above across large parts of Europe until this weekend.
