A storm force front will move through our coast starting near 2 pm Saturday afternoon. Anticipate southerly winds of moderate to fresh breezes rapidly switching to the west as the front passes, with winds increasing to gale force. Confidence continues to increase that a narrow band of storm force conditions will impact the coast from Cape Edgecumbe north to the Fairweather Grounds and penetrating into Cross Sound. The front will move east through the Panhandle Saturday afternoon into Saturday night, with westerly winds diminishing. Mariners operating along the coast should make ready for strong westerly winds and elevated seas arriving near 2 pm.
