Areas of dense fog has developed across portions of the northern Piedmont and Coastal Plain this morning with visibilities lowering to a half mile or less at times. Visibilities are expected to improve between 8 and 9 AM this morning. If you encounter dense fog while driving, turn on your low beam headlights, slow down, and keep your distance from other vehicles.
