River levels are rising on the River Chew on Monday the 23 September in light of yesterdays and today’s heavy rain periods, approx. 30mm over the last 24 hours has occurred. More rainfall expected is today and throughout the next few days. River levels on the Chew Stoke Stream at Chew Stoke, Winford Brook at Chew Magna and River Chew at Compton Dando are all rising and forecast to rise above flood warning thresholds later today, which we are monitoring as a matter of urgency. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated today or as the situation changes.

A flood alert has been issued. River levels are high on the Bristol Avon, Broadmead Brook, River Boyd due to heavy rainfall. In the last 24 hours approximately 30mm has fallen across the catchment. River levels on the River Avon will remain high today, Friday the 29 March 2024. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Bristol Avon, Broadmead Brook, River Boyd, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around low-lying land at Hanham Lock, the Bath Marina area and the floodplain upstream of Bath. The River Avon should peak tonight between 6pm and 8pm. We are not forecasting flood warnings within the City of Bath as upcoming rainfall totals over the weekend are lower. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking rivers for blockages in the area. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. A flood alert has been issued. Rising river levels are high on the Bristol Frome this afternoon due to heavy rainfall. In the last 24 hours approximately 30mm of rain has fallen across the catchment. River levels on the Bristol Frome are rising and will remain high today, Monday 23 September 2024. Flooding of roads and low lying land is possible. Areas most at risk include Yate and St John's Way in Chipping Sodbury and Damson Bridge. We are not expecting flood warnings today. The weather outlook shows further rain forecast for the rest of this week that may result in flood warnings. We will continue to monitor the rainfall and river levels and checking rivers for blockages. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Consider putting your flood plan into action.
