ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- At 1255 AM CDT Wednesday, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.75 and 2.25 inches of rain have fallen. The Nemadji River near Pleasant Valley has risen by about 4 ft in the past 6 hours, and while it is starting to show signs of leveling off, high water here and downstream may persist several more hours.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include, Duluth, Superior, Cloquet, Hermantown, Proctor, Scanlon, Carlton, Mahtowa, Oliver, Wrenshall, Holyoke, Thomson, Brookston, Jay Cooke State Park, Pike Lake Near Duluth, Saginaw, City of Rice Lake, Fond Du Lac Band Cloquet Area, Foxboro and Pattison State Park.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and to the National Weather Service in Duluth when you can do so safely.
