A flood alert has been issued. Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are have risen on the Blackwater river as a result of heavy rainfall overnight. Therefore, flooding of low lying land and roads is expected today, 28/04/24, especially in the Blackwater area. The rain should clear by early afternoon after which it is expected to be mainly dry with the possibility of some scattered showers. Tomorrow 29/04/24 is forecast to be dry. We expect levels to peak later on this morning, before starting to fall. We are monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. This message will be updated by tomorrow morning, 29/04/24, or as the situation changes.
