De locatiemarkering is op Petrozavodsk Airport geplaatst . Oranje kruisjes geven de bliksem aan. Gegevens verstrekt door nowcast.de (beschikbaar in de VS, Europa en Australië). Motregen of lichte sneeuwval kan onzichtbaar zijn voor de radar. De neerslagintensiteit heeft een kleurcode, gaande van turkoois tot rood.
Het realtime satellietbeeld combineert zichtbaar licht overdag met infraroodstraling 's nachts. 's Nachts is het beeld niet donker, omdat infraroodstraling temperatuurverschillen kan waarnemen. Helaas zijn lage wolken en mist moeilijk te onderscheiden van grondtemperaturen en kunnen dus 's nachts bijna onzichtbaar zijn. Meteosat-satellietbeelden voor Europa worden elke 5 minuten in real time bijgewerkt. De beelden van GOES-16/GOES-17 (Noord- en Zuid-Amerika) en Himawari (Azië) worden om de 10 minuten bijgewerkt.
De neerslag wordt geschat met behulp van radar en satellieten. Neerslagschattingen van satellieten zijn 's nachts minder nauwkeurig dan overdag.
