Desktop website and satellite image upgrades

With the latest website improvements, you can now easily switch between hourly and 3-hourly data on the start page. And our satellite images now have much less background interference for better readability.

Our desktop website received some additional design upgrades and all important weather information is now even easier to read at one glance. We added a button to switch between 3-hourly and hourly weather data more easily. The new clean design also enabled us to add additional information to the hourly overview, such as the rainSPOT, which shows the expected precipitation for every single hour of the day - for the next 7 days. The rainSPOT centre reflects the precipitation conditions for your selected location, and the remaining area covers your location's surroundings to detect rain and its intensity immediately. This view provides the best and most easily readable overview of what level of precipitation to expect.

Our high-resolution satellite images are now even more granular, with a higher resolution, as shown in the screenshots: The white colour used to show clouds is now less permeable, ensuring that the background topography no longer interferes with the cloud layers. The left screenshot shows the previous representation where the topography is visible as light grey lines, potentially leading to wrong interpretations of the cloud cover. The right image displays the improved cloud display. To ensure that you can still identify the area shown on the satellite image, we also updated the fonts of the location names and made the political boundary lines slightly more relevant.
