Many users have asked us for years to add the ECMWF HRES weather model to our huge portfolio of models. The Windyty merger made this more viable, so we used this new opportunity to add the global high-resolution model, Operated by ECMWF (European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts), as part of their Integrated Forecasting System (IFS), ECMWF HRES offers unique spatial resolution of 9 km globally, with hourly intervals, and is calculated 4 times per day.
The ECMWF HRES model output is available:
- In our weather maps: For a wide spatial overview of the weather conditions, we recommend using our weather maps, and you can now also select the IFS HRES model in the model selection menu (on the right).
- In our MultiModel: You can display all available models for a selected location or select a specific model of interest. This gives you direct access to the IFS HRES weather model forecasts.
Furthermore, the new meteoblue Learning MultiModel (mLM) is now including the IFS HRES model for advanced AI forecasting algorithms, leading to additional accuracy improvements.
