Squalls are expected to approach the upper tidal Potomac River by around 2:30 PM, then progress eastward at around 25 to 30 knots crossing the upper Chesapeake Bay, tidal Patapsco River, and middle tidal Potomac River between 3:00 and 4:00 PM. Squalls will cross the middle portions of the Chesapeake Bay, tidal Patuxent River, and lower tidal Potomac River between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM, then cross the waters off southern Maryland between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Additional isolated activity is possible between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Mariners should remain alert if navigating the waters this afternoon, and be prepared to seek safe harbor quickly should hazardous weather threaten or Special Marine Warnings be issued.
