A flood alert has been issued. Flooding of roads and low lying land is possible, property flooding is not expected. Flooding is possible between 01:00 AM and 03:00 AM on Saturday 21/09/2024. The detailed tidal forecast for those who use it is for a peak level at Heysham of 5.50 mAOD (10.4 m above local datum), and at Glasson Dock of 5.57 mAOD (7.57 m above local datum). We do not expect to see similar impacts from the high tide on Saturday afternoon. We are closely monitoring the situation and have closed flood gates on Lancaster Quay. Be careful along coastal roads and footpaths which may become submerged by rising water. This message will be updated by 10:00 AM on 21/09/2024, or as the situation changes.
