Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, rain and showers and southerly winds are expected during Saturday and Sunday. Areas likely to be affected include parts of the Central, West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.
For parts of GIPPSLAND: HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is forecast during the remainder of Saturday and into early Sunday. 6-hour rainfall totals between 35 and 55 mm are likely. Isolated falls up to 70 mm are possible, most likely about the elevated parts. Conditions are expected to ease during Sunday morning. For GEELONG and the OTWAYS: Rainfall has eased over the area and the warning is cancelled. Locations which may be affected include Traralgon, Bairnsdale, Sale, Mt Baw Baw, Morwell, Moe, Maffra and Yarram. Severe weather is no longer occurring in the Central and South West districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED. 65 mm of rainfall was recorded at Briagolong in the 6 hours to 8:15 pm. 59 mm of rainfall was recorded at Murderers Hill in the 6 hours to 4:31 pm. 60 mm of rainfall was recorded at Seaton (Glenmaggie Creek at The Gorge) in the 6 hours to 4:26 pm. 73 mm of rainfall was recorded at Lorne (Mt Cowley) in the 6 hours to 1:15 pm. 48 mm of rainfall was recorded at Pollocksford in the 6 hours to 12:36 pm. 38 mm of rainfall was recorded at Inverleigh in the 6 hours to 11:15 am. 64 mm of rainfall was recorded at Benwerrin in the 3 hours to 11:15 am.
