A flood alert has been issued. River levels are rising in Market Weighton and South Newbald due to recent heavy rainfall. Areas most at risk include the river Foulness and the Market Weighton Canal and their tributaries. Further thunderstorms are forecast this evening. We will continue to monitor levels closely. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. This message will be updated by 8:00am on Wednesday 29/05/2024, or as the situation changes.
