Explicații oficiale privind avertizările:

A series of strong Bering Sea systems will bring moderate to heavy rain at times along the coast as well as gusty winds and rough seas along the coast waters of Northern Bristol Bay. A southerly push of winds up Nushagak Bay both Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning may bring increased water-levels up the Bay but coastal flooding is of little to no concern due to lower tides. Here is what to expect from each system:

Tuesday:

-Winds: Southeast winds 20 to 25 mph Tuesday morning with gusts up to 30 mph.

-Wave Heights: Expect peak wave heights of 6 to 10 feet along coastal Bristol Bay by Tuesday afternoon. These elevated wave heights will persist through the rest of Tuesday with the southwesterly fetch.

-Rainfall accumulations: Expect moderate to heavy rain at times (about 0.75 to 1.25 inches storm total), with the highest totals towards the Nushagak Peninsula/Cape Constantine.

Wednesday into Thursday:

-Winds: Southerly winds in the morning turning southwesterly through the day and increasing to 25 to 35 mph. Gusts between 35 to 45 mph. Peak winds occur Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday evening before slowly diminishing through Thursday morning.

-Wave Heights: Expect peak wave heights of 9 to 13 ft Wednesday afternoon to Wednesday evening for the coastal waters of northern Bristol Bay. Wave heights begin to slowly subside through Thursday morning.

-Rainfall amounts: Expect a steady light rain (about 0.50 to 0.75 inches storm total), with the highest totals near Togiak.
