A storm moving in from the Bering Sea will bring widespread, prolonged rainfall to Southwest Alaska through Tuesday.

  • Rain amounts: Through Tuesday afternoon, widespread rainfall amounts of an additional 1 to 2 inches are expected across Southwest Alaska, with locally higher amounts possible (up to 3 inches for the Western Alaska Range).

  • Timing of heaviest rain: For Kuskokwim Delta and Bristol Bay, this morning. For Alaska Peninsula and Southwest interior (Lake Iliamna region and along the Western Alaska Range), Monday into Tuesday.

  • Winds and water levels: For coastal areas from west of Dillingham to the Western Capes (including the communities of Togiak, Goodnews Bay, and Platinum), southerly sustained winds of 25 to 35 mph will persist through Monday afternoon. This could bring water levels up to 1 foot above the mean high tide line. Winds will be strongest early Monday morning.
