THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 173 IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM CDT THURSDAY FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN TEXAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 13 COUNTIES IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS BASTROP BLANCO BURNET CALDWELL COMAL FAYETTE GILLESPIE HAYS KENDALL LEE LLANO TRAVIS WILLIAMSON THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF AUSTIN, BASTROP, BLANCO, BOERNE, BURNET, FREDERICKSBURG, GEORGETOWN, GIDDINGS, LA GRANGE, LLANO, LOCKHART, NEW BRAUNFELS, AND SAN MARCOS.
At 924 PM CDT, Emergency management reported flooding of several roads in the vicinity of MoPac Expressway and The Domain. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected over the next hour. Flash flooding is already occurring.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
