TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK It must be emphasized that heavy rainfall and severe winds may still be experienced in localities outside the landfall point and the forecast confidence cone. Tropical Storm QUEENIE will generally move west northwestward until Friday (25 September) before turning north northeastward by Sunday (27 September) and will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Monday (28 September) morning or early afternoon. Afterwards it will move generally northeastward near the southern islands of Japan. This tropical cyclone will gradually intensify while inside PAR. It may reach typhoon category by Sunday (27 September).
