WHEN: Until 345 AM EDT.

IMPACTS: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- At 243 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include, New City, Ossining, Peekskill, Monsey, Nanuet, Haverstraw, Tarrytown, Mount Kisco, Suffern, Mahopac, Monroe, Walden, Nyack, West Point, Tappan, Sloatsburg, Cold Spring, New Windsor, Pearl River and Hawthorne.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

- A slow moving low pressure system is bringing periods of showers and thunderstorms to the area early this morning. Some areas have already received as much as 3 to 5 inches, and additional rainfall of up to an inch could lead to flooding.
