Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Please report observed flooding to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.

- Low-lying, poorly drained areas, urban areas and arroyo systems will be most susceptible. Rivers and streams will see rises, potentially reaching flood stage. Recent burn scars may see flash flooding, including the Ruidoso area burn scars, Frijoles, Sacaton, Hummingbird, and Whiskey burn scars.
