At 245 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated another round of thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 3 inches of rain fell last evening. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area early this morning. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

IMPACT,Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
- Some locations that will experience flash flooding include, Clovis, Portales, Texico, Dora, Causey, Cannon Air Force Base, Ranchvale, Oasis State Park, Arch and Broadview.
This includes Highway 60 between Mile Markers 381 and 397.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

IMPACTS: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.

- A near-record to record surge of moisture combined with two merging storm systems will bring a prolonged multi-day period of showers and thunderstorms producing moderate to heavy rainfall. Combined with already rain-soaked soil, there is a moderate to high risk of flash flooding.
- Low-lying, poorly drained areas, urban areas and arroyo systems will be most susceptible. Rivers and streams will see rises, potentially reaching flood stage. Recent burn scars may see flash flooding, including the Ruidoso area burn scars, Frijoles, Sacaton, Hummingbird, and Whiskey burn scars.
