At 520 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 12 miles southwest of Winifred, or 30 miles north of Lewistown, moving northeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD,60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

IMPACT,Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
At 517 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 13 miles west of Winifred, or 31 miles north of Lewistown, moving northeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD,Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

IMPACT,Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.
