A flood alert has been issued. Property flooding is not expected. River levels on the Lambourn and its tributaries are high due to high groundwater levels and recent rainfall. Flooding of low lying land and roads is expected to continue today and in the days to come, especially in areas closest to the River Lambourn in Newbury and on the Winterbourne in the Bagnor area. The forecast for this week starts settled and dry, with less settled conditions bringing showers, potentially heavy at times, from Sunday 12/05/2024 and into the week. River levels are expected to remain high over the coming days and will be sensitive to further rainfall. We are closely monitoring the situation.
