Severe heatwave conditions are building over northern and western parts of the NT, and are expected to persist over the weekend before contracting to northern districts next week as a milder southerly change extends northwards over the region. Severe heatwave conditions have eased in the eastern part of the NT, including the Barkley and Carpentaria districts, but low intensity heatwave conditions are expected to continue.
