Minor to moderate impacts from gale-force winds are possible within any of the localities where Wind Signal No. 2 is hoisted Minimal to minor impacts from strong winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 1. The highest Wind Signal that will likely be hoisted throughout its passage is Wind Signal No. 1. However, the possibility of reaching tropical storm category is not ruled out, the worst case scenario is Wind Signal No. 2. On the forecast track, SALOME may pass close or make landfall over Batanes within the next 12 hours. This weather disturbance may also pass close or over Babuyan Islands by this morning and in Ilocos Norte by noon or afternoon. SALOME is forecast to weaken into a tropical depression within the next 12 hours and will follow a weakening trend until it becomes a remnant low by Friday.
