Snow boots are needed when you are in the Alps. A low pressure area on the south side of the Alps moved towards Italy, which caused a lot of snow in the mountains.

The snowfall line sank and also caused snow in lower regions. In the Italian Alps up to 50 centimetres of fresh snow fell. Until Friday evening more precipitation can be expected and the snow cover over 1000 m height can reach up to 2 meters.
