- Very heavy snow has occurred roughly from Cape Girardeau to Evansville and points north where reports of over a foot of snow have been received. A band of very heavy sleet occurred overnight from about Poplar Bluff to Paducah to Madisonville, and icing has occurred south of there. Travel is extremely dangerous and may be impossible in many locations. Light to moderate snow will continue in most of the area through midday.

Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and the motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especially cautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your car is winterized and in good working order.
