At 1132 PM CDT, Doppler radar, emergency management, and rainfall gauges reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain with ongoing flooding across the warned area. Between 6 and 16 inches of rain had fallen over the past 24 hours with 2 to 5 inches in portions of the warned area within the past 3 hours. Rain rates overnight could exceed 2 to 4 inches per hour at times. Significant Flash flooding is already occurring or soon could develop with numerous roads underwater and multiple water rescues occurring earlier today. Additionally, local creeks and river stems could quickly become even more swollen across the warned area, campers please be aware overnight. Travel is discouraged within the warned area.

IMPACTS: There is a potential for life threatening flooding somewhere in the watch area. Considerable to locally catastrophic flash flooding impacts are likely for portions of the US 90 corridor west of San Antonio, including the southern Edwards Plateau and Rio Grande. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible.
