FURTHER FLOODING POSSIBLE ACROSS THE FLOOD WATCH AREA A tropical low has moved into the eastern Kimberley, tracking west-southwest and reaching the Kimberley coast by Thursday evening. There is a moderate chance of the tropical low developing into a tropical cyclone as it moves off the Kimberley coast over water. This system is expected to bring widespread rainfall, with heavy falls possible along the Pilbara Coast from late Saturday into Sunday. Uncertainties remain regarding the movement of the tropical low and the exact areas receiving the heaviest rainfall. Flooding may develop across the Pilbara Coastal Rivers catchment from late Saturday. Moderate rainfall has been recorded in parts of the Tanami Desert, Sturt Creek District, and the North Kimberley, West Kimberley and Fitzroy Catchments in the last few days. Further flooding is possible across those areas from Thursday, with forecast rainfall. River level rises, localised flooding, and overland inundation are possible in parts of the Flood Watch area, which may affect road access. Some communities may become isolated. Check road conditions before travelling.
