THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 528 IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN COLORADO THIS WATCH INCLUDES 11 COUNTIES IN EAST CENTRAL COLORADO ELBERT LINCOLN IN NORTHEAST COLORADO ADAMS ARAPAHOE DOUGLAS LOGAN MORGAN PHILLIPS SEDGWICK WASHINGTON WELD THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF AKRON, AURORA, CASTLE ROCK, CENTENNIAL, ELIZABETH, FORT MORGAN, GREELEY, HOLYOKE, JULESBURG, KIOWA, LIMON, PARKER, STERLING, THORNTON, WESTMINSTER, AND WINDSOR.

WHAT: Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

WHERE: Portions of east central and northeast Colorado, including the following areas: all of Logan, Washington, Morgan, and Lincoln Counties, and the eastern portions of Elbert, Adams, Arapahoe, and Weld Counties.

WHEN: Until 10 PM MDT this evening.

IMPACTS: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded.

- Strong thunderstorms with torrential rainfall will be possible in the Watch area late this afternoon and evening. Rainfall rates greater than 2 inches in just 30-45 minutes can be expected from the stronger storms.
