Significant rainfall possible today. Hazard: Total rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm with locally higher amounts possible. Timing: Two rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected with the first occurring this morning and the second occurring this afternoon through this evening. Discussion: A warm and moist airmass will bring the potential for significant rainfall. Rain will continue this morning before coming to an end later this morning, however, amounts should not be significant. A second round of showers and thunderstorms is expected this evening bringing 30 to 50 mm. At this time the highest rainfall amounts are expected to remain east of the area, where a rainfall warning is in effect. There is a possibility of these greater rainfall amounts shifting farther west and into the area. If these higher rainfall amounts do shift farther west a rainfall warning will be issued.
