The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

  • Flash Flood Warning for, Southwestern Texas County in south central Missouri, Dallas County in southwestern Missouri, Northeastern Greene County in southwestern Missouri, Southwestern Laclede County in southwestern Missouri, Southern Polk County in southwestern Missouri, Webster County in southwestern Missouri, Wright County in southwestern Missouri,

  • Until 1230 PM CDT Sunday.

  • At 429 AM CDT, Emergency management reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain and widespread flooding across the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD,Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT,Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

  • Some locations that will experience flash flooding include, Marshfield, Mountain Grove, Buffalo, Cabool, Seymour, Fair Grove, Mansfield, Fordland, Conway, Norwood, Pleasant Hope, Hartville, Niangua, Morrisville, Diggins, Morgan, Dawson, Duncan, Phillipsburg, Louisburg, Aldrich, Rader, Northview, Grovespring, Odin, Elkland, Charity, Long Lane, Olive, March, Bassville, Foose, Pumpkin Center, Brighton and Stockton Lake.

This includes the following low water crossings, James River at Bell Ford Road, Lindley Creek at Mathis Road, Whetstone Creek at Owens Road, Woods Fork Gasconade River at Rippee Ford Road, Osage Fork at Auburn Road, Osage Fork at Highway J and Wolf Creek at Highway AB.

  • WHEN: Until 215 PM CDT Sunday.

  • IMPACTS: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

    • At 211 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Significant additional rainfall is expected into the day Sunday.
    • This includes the following low water crossings, James River at Bell Ford Road, Sons Creek at County Road 113, South Fork Jacks Fork River at Stillhouse Road, Beaver Creek at Crewes Ford Road, Big Creek at County Road 390, Mahans Creek at County Road 501 and Elk Creek at Highway Z.
