Les images des satellites Météosat pour l'Europe sont mises à jour en temps réel toutes les 5 minutes. Les images GOES-16/GOES-17 (Amérique du Nord et du Sud) et Himawari (Asie) sont mises à jour toutes les 10 minutes.
Les précipitations sont estimées à partir de radars et de satellites. Les estimations des précipitations par satellite sont moins précises la nuit que le jour.
