- A weather pattern conducive for large fire growth will develop Sunday and continue through Wednesday as a broad trough develops over the western United States keeping the flow over New Mexico dry and windy. The strongest winds and critically low relative humidity values Sunday will favor the central mountain chain and northeast highlands westward. Then, relative humidity plummets over eastern areas as well on Monday. Winds will strengthen over central and eastern areas late Monday morning, but not until mid afternoon farther west.
