A rainstorm observed over the eastern portion of the country is currently producing rain of varying intensity within the Volta, Eastern, Oti, Northern and parts of the Ashanti region. The storm is expected to drift westwards to produce moderate to heavy rains over more areas within the regions and over parts of the Bono East, Bono, Ahafo and Savannah regions. Ejura, Salaga, Buipe, Kintampo, Sunyani, Kumasi, Tepa, Koforidua, Achiase, Nkawkaw and surroundings are expected to experience the conditions between 5:30 and 9:00 am. The storm will cast cloudiness over Greater Accra with pockets of rain especially over the inland parts (Oyarifa, Pokuase, Madina, Amasaman, Afienya, Dodowa and environs).
Residents in all affected communities are strongly advised to stay indoors and avoid open areas during the event. Motorists should reduce speed, switch on headlights, and exercise extreme caution on roads, as reduced visibility and surface flooding are likely. Parents and guardians are urged to ensure children are safely indoors before the storms arrive.
