A rainstorm currently observed over northern Togo is moving westward and is expected to bring rain of varying intensity into northeastern Ghana through the morning hours. The Northern Region should expect rain between 7:30am and 9:00am, while the Upper East and North East regions will see rain arrive between 8:00am and 10:00am. A localised weather system is already producing rainfall around Chinderi, Dambai, and Banda in the Oti Region. The approaching rainstorm is also expected to bring rains to cover more areas within the region by around 8:30am.
Residents in the regions should plan their morning activities with these timeframes in mind, allowing extra travel time and avoiding trips during the peak rain windows if possible. Motorists should reduce speed, use headlights, and avoid crossing flooded roads or low-lying bridges. Farmers, market traders, and outdoor workers should secure loose materials, produce, and equipment ahead of time. Those in flood-prone or riverside communities, particularly near Dambai and along the Oti River, should stay alert for further updates.
