Stormy low-pressure system moves over Northern Europe

The low-pressure system brings storms with precipitation.

An intense low-pressure system is moving across the Benelux countries. Our weather maps show wind speeds of over 100km/h in the area of the Dutch coast, accompanied by heavy precipitation. On Wednesday (2023-07-05), the centre of the low-pressure system called “Poly” will move northeastwards across the North Sea towards Denmark. The weather warning map also provides information about the storm showing active warnings that the respective national weather services have issued. The storm will also influence the weather conditions of more southern latitudes. Large parts of Germany may also be affected by strong gusts of wind, sometimes accompanied by heavy downpours.

However, the low-pressure system will be passed by this week's end. Then, hot air masses from the Atlantic for the coming weekend are expected in Europe, which will cause the thermometer to rise to over 30 degrees Celsius in many places.
