Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
Light winds and very humid conditions have resulted in areas of fog across portions of eastern Iowa. The fog could become locally dense at times with visibilities down to a quarter mile, especially in low-lying locations. Expect conditions to quickly improve by the mid morning hours. Motorists should exercise caution as visibilities may change suddenly over short distances. Use low beam headlights and leave plenty of distance between you and the vehicle ahead.
