- Widespread critical fire weather conditions are ongoing throughout much of western and northern New Mexico today. Vegetation remains drier than normal, particularly in the northwest portion of the state. Southwest winds trend weaker in most areas Monday, except across the northeast where critical conditions are likely again during the afternoon hours. Fire danger trends higher again Tuesday as southwest winds increase again.
The National Weather Service in Albuquerque NM has issued a Red Flag Warning in effect from noon to 7 PM MDT Monday, and a Fire Weather Watch in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening.
