Strong thunderstorms are moving east at 30 knots with the potential to produce strong wind gusts up to 45 knots. Frequent lightning, large hail and a waterspout may also be associated. ### Large hail can damage vessels and cause injury. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. For more information monitor Canadian Coast Guard radio or Weatheradio stations.
Mariners are advised to prepare for squalls. If underway, seek safe harbour immediately. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Should one or more waterspouts develop nearby, circumnavigate away from the waterspouts and head for shore or the nearest safe harbour if possible. Consider delaying or postponing travel in areas under the squall warning. If you must travel, keep others informed of your planned route and carry appropriate safety equipment including a GPS and satellite phone or marine radio.
