Smoke from wildfires in south Georgia will lead to areas of reduced visibilities, largely between 3 and 6 miles, from late tonight through Thursday morning. The greatest visibility reductions are expected in central Georgia, though noticeable wildfire smoke is still expected in parts of north Georgia. Visible smoke should be most prominent during the early to mid morning hours Thursday before improving by late morning and afternoon. Additionally, areas of reduced air quality are possible in association with the smoke. Those with asthma and other respiratory concerns should consider limiting prolonged outdoor activity and exertion.
Relative Humidities of 30 percent or less can be expected for 4 or more hours this afternoon into the evening. Winds will be S to SW at 4 to 7 MPH. With dry fuels, high fire danger conditions can be expected. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities whether you may burn outdoors. If you do burn outside, use extreme caution.
