World Meteorology Day 2023

The World Meteorology Day 2023 subject title is "The future of weather, climate and water across generations". meteoblue has contributed a video about climate change and developed new tools to help quantify and manage these changes.

World Meteorological Day 2023 takes place during WMO’s 150th anniversary. Throughout these 150 years, National Meteorological and Hydrological Services in almost all countries have worked around the clock to collect and standardise data. These underpin the weather forecasts we now take for granted - a remarkable (and almost unique) story of scientific vision, technological development and a unique cooperation system to serve society across most political and societal barriers. In the past decades, these efforts have been enriched by the growth of private weather services, which developed unique tools that are now indispensable for managing our electricity grids, agriculture, air traffic safety and many more functions of society.

The subject title of World Meteorology Day 2023 is "The future of weather, climate and water across generations". meteoblue contributes a video about the future of climate change and possible measures, as it is the only private company on the EMS (European Meteorological Society) page Activities of EMS Members (minutes 08:50-12:33).

meteoblue has also created 3 services which enable anyone to check climate change for their location within seconds:

  1. Our public climate change page shows the evolution of the temperatures and precipitation since 1979 for any location on Earth.
  2. Our climate prediction for the years 2020 until 2099, is accessible through history+.
  3. Our climate risk assessment reports, can be produced from 2020 until 2099.

All those tools are available for any location on Earth.

And more will come - stay tuned...
