Two hands-on sessions in Zurich explore urban heat and climate resilience in practice.

Climate Week Zurich 2026 brings together organisations working at the front line of climate action, with a strong focus on practical solutions and collaboration. From 4 to 7 May, the city will host workshops, panels, and public activities aimed at turning climate ambition into measurable outcomes.

As part of this first edition, meteoblue will contribute with two dedicated sessions that translate climate data into actionable insight for municipalities and businesses.

From heat maps to local decisions

On Tuesday, 5 May 2026 from 14:00 to 18:00, the session “Wo wird es heiss? Lokale Hitzebelastung in Ihrer Gemeinde sichtbar machen” (Where will it get hot? Making local heat exposure visible in your municipality; held in German) will focus on urban heat stress and how it can be made visible at a local level.

Organised together with Umwelt- und Gesundheitsschutz Zürich (Zurich Environmental and Health Protection), the workshop will present concrete approaches to identifying heat hotspots and interpreting results in a way that supports planning and adaptation. Participants will leave with tangible outputs that can be applied directly in their own communities.

Climate resilience as a business advantage

On Wednesday, 6 May 2026 from 14:00 to 18:00, the focus shifts from cities to companies. The session “Don’t Get Left Behind: Climate Resilience as a Catalyst for Competitive Advantage” (held in English) explores how organisations can turn climate risk into strategic value.

Together with sustainable AG and ECOS, the discussion will examine how climate data and risk assessment can inform decision-making, reduce exposure, and support long-term competitiveness. Contributions from Markus Goetz, Theresa Jahn, and Lea Naon will highlight practical pathways from analysis to implementation.

Climate Week Zurich as a platform for action

Climate Week Zurich (Klimawoche Zürich) is designed as a city-wide platform that connects stakeholders across sectors, encouraging innovation and collaboration in climate protection.

For meteoblue, participation reflects a broader commitment to making environmental data usable in real-world contexts, whether through urban heat analysis or long-term climate risk assessment.

More information about the event is available on the official Climate Week Zurich website.
