A tropical cyclone will affect the locality. Winds of 39-61 kph or intermittent rains may be expected within 36 hours. “MAYMAY” IS NOW OVER THE PHILIPPINE SEA. Location of eye/center : The center of Tropical Depression MAYMAY was estimated based on all available data including those from Baler Doppler Weather Radar at 150 km East Northeast of Echague, Isabela (17.0, 123.1). Strength : Maximum winds of 45 kph near the centerand gustiness of up to 60 kph. Forecast movement : Forecast to move East Southeastward at 35 kph Forecast position : Aug 06, 2026 11:00 PM - 275 km East of Casiguran, Aurora OTHER HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND AREAS Heavy Rainfall Outlook Refer to Weather Advisory No. 20 issued at 05:00 PM today for the heavy rainfall outlook due to TC MAYMAY and the Southwest Monsoon. Severe Winds The wind signals warn the public of the general wind threat over an area due to the tropical cyclone. Local winds may be slightly stronger/enhanced in coastal and upland/mountainous areas exposed to winds. Winds are less strong in areas sheltered from the prevailing wind direction. Minor to moderate impacts from gale-force winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 2. Minimal to minor impacts from strong winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 1. The Southwest Monsoon and the periphery of MAYMAY will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds): Today until Saturday (06 to 08 August): Most of the country. HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS A Gale Warning is in effect over the seaboard of Extreme Northern Luzon. For more details, refer to Gale Warning No. 7 issued at 5:00 PM today. 24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook Up to very rough seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 4.5 m: The seaboard of Batanes. Sea travel is risky for all types or tonnage of vessels. All mariners must remain in port or, if underway, seek shelter or safe harbor as soon as possible until winds and waves subside. Up to rough seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 4.0 m: The seaboard of Babuyan Islands; the northeastern seaboard of mainland Cagayan. Up to 4.0 m: The eastern seaboard of Davao Oriental. Up to 3.0 m: The seaboards of Isabela and northeastern Aurora; the northern seaboard of Ilocos Norte, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur; the northern and eastern seaboards of Polillo Islands, Catanduanes, and Northern Samar; the remaining seaboard of mainland Cagayan. Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced of operating ill-equipped vessels. Up to moderate seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 2.5 m: The seaboards of Zambales, Lubang Islands, Kalayaan Islands, and Surigao del Sur; the western seaboards of Pangasinan, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, Calamian Islands, and northern mainland Palawan; the eastern seaboards of Albay, Sorsogon, Eastern Samar, Dinagat Islands, and Siargao-Bucas Grande Islands; the remaining seaboards of Aurora and Camarines Norte. Up to 2.0 m: The seaboards of Ilocos Sur, La Union, Romblon, Masbate, Cuyo Islands, Cagayancillo Islands, Antique including Caluya Islands, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao City, Davao del Sur, and Davao Occidental; the western seaboards of mainland Palawan and Negros Occidental; the southern seaboards of Quezon, Marinduque, Iloilo, Guimaras, and Negros Oriental; the remaining seaboards of Ilocos Norte, Pangasinan, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, and Davao Oriental. Mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions. Other coastal waters have forecast wave heights of less than 2.0 m. TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK It must be emphasized that heavy rainfall and severe winds may still be experienced in localities outside the landfall point and the forecast confidence cone. Refer to “Other Hazards affecting Land Areas” for more details. Furthermore, the track may still shift within the limit of the forecast confidence cone. On the latest forecast track, MAYMAY is forecast to continue weakening and may be downgraded into a remnant low tonight or tomorrow (09 August) early morning. The remnant low of MAYMAY will move generally southeastward until it merges into the larger circulation of Tropical Cyclone DOLPHIN.

Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials.
